KSL-HKSL – Instruction sheet

KSL / HKSL:
THESE PRODUCTS ARE TRUE CATALYZERS FOR LAMBDA PROBES
AND CATALYZE JUST THE GAS LET INTO THE PROBE.

WHEN SHOULD THEY BE INSTALLED ?
THEY SHOULD BE INSTALLED ( EITHER KSL OR HKSL) AFTER ELIMINATING
THE CATALYZER FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.

WHERE SHOULD THEY BE INSTALLED ?
ONLY ON THE SECOND LAMBDA PROBE (THE ONE AFTER THE CATALYZER )

WHY SHOULD THEY BE INSTALLED ?
AS OF VERSION EURO 3 ONWARDS, THE ELIMINATION OF THE CATALYZER
CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE/POLLUTION LED TO LIGHT UP.
IN SOME VEHICLES THIS SITUATION CAUSES A RECOVERY PHASE OF THE CPU
WITHIN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.
WHAT’S MORE, THESE PARAMETERS ARE SAVED IN THE ERROR MEMORY,
ENABLING ANYONE WHO CONNECTS TO THE TROUBLE-SHOOTING
CONNECTOR, TO FIND THE TIME AND DISTANCE OF THE ANOMALY.
THE APPLICATION OF THE KSL OR HKSL SYSTEMS STOPS THE CPU FROM
DETECTING THE ELIMINATION OF THE CATALYZER
BECAUSE THE GAS LET INTO THE LABDA PROBE IS ALWAYS CATALYZED

WHAT IF I INSTALL A METALLIC SPORTS CATALYZER ?
EVEN IN THE PRESENCE OF CATALYZERS 100 / 20 CELLS, THE LAMBDA PROBE
WOULD STILL DETECT THE ANOMALY, WHICH WOULD NO LONGER BE “CATALYZER MISSING”
BUT “CATALYZER INEFFICIENT”.
IN THIS CASE, THE APPLICATION OF THE KSL OR HKSL WOULD STILL DETECT
THE ANOMALY AS THE FOLLOWING:
CATALYZER FULL, SECOND LAMBDA PROBE INEFFICIENT OR WITH LOW SIGNAL.
THIS IS BECAUSE THE CATALYZATION OF THE 100 OR 200 CELLS ADDED TO THE
CATALYZATION OF THE KSL OR HKSL SYSTEM CATALYZES THE GAS EXCESSIVELY
GIVING THE LAMBDA PROBE A GAS CONFIGURATION THAT IS NO LONGER CORRECT.

SO WHICH SOLUTION SHOULD I ADOPT WITH A SPORTS CATALYZER ?
IN THIS CASE THE SOLUTION IS THAT OF MOVING THE THREADED UNION OF THE
LAMBDA PROBE SUPPORT, BEFORE THE CATALYZER.
THEN INSTALL THE PROBE WITH RELATIVE KSL OR HKSL
SO THAT THE SAME IS ABLE TO READ THE GAS CATALYZED CORRECTLY.

WHICH OF THE TWO SYSTEMS SHOULD I INSTALL: KSL OR HKSL ?
MODEL KSL CAN REACH UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 700° DEGREES AND HKSL 1200°.
EXPERIENCE ACQUIRED HAS LEAD US TO SUCH CONCLUSION, WHICH IS RELIABLE IN 90 % OF CASES.
IN ASPIRATED ENGINES UNDER 80 HP LITRE WE CAN USE THE KSL.
IN ASPIRATED ENGINES ABOVE 80 HP LITRE OR SECOND LAMBDA PROBE
VERY NEAR THE ENGINE (CAR WITH REAR ENGINE) WE WILL USE THE HKSL.
IN TURBO ENGINES IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO USE THE HKSL EVEN IF IN SOME CASES
OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TOLD US THAT THEY HAVE USED THE
KSL WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.( AT THE TIME OF DRAFTING THIS TEXT)
IN CASES NOT CONTEMPLATED IN THIS CONTEXT
( VARIOUS TYPES OF ELABORATIONS OR DIFFERENT USES ) THE CHOICE BETWEEN KSL OR HKSL
WILL BE ENTRUSTED EXCLUSIVELY TO THE EXPERIENCE OF
THE PERSON PREPARING OR INSTALLING THE SYSTEM

ATTENTION! THE INSIDE OF THE TWO SYSTEMS IS MADE OF CERAMIC MATERIAL
WHICH COULD BREAK IF THEY ARE ACCIDENTALLY HIT OR DROPPED.
